What Has God Done For You

Nowadays when you tune on the news channels they seem saturated with news about wars, the endless list of wars to come, senseless mass killings, and the weather. This in turn has caused an increase in the conversations I have with my fellow humans about God and often I hear the question, “If there is a God why doesn’t He do something about the conditions here on earth?” I have even heard many say after hearing about a car or truck mowing people down, and mass killings in churches that, “If there is a God, He doesn’t care about what happens to us.” First let’s go to the bible for its answer. James 1:13-15,

“Let no one being tempted be saying that ‘I am being tempted by God’. For God is not-tempted by evils. And He Himself tempts no one, but each one is tempted by his own desire while being drawn-away and enticed. Then the desire, having conceived, gives-birth to sin. And the sin, having been fully-formed, brings-forth death.”

God and NatureThis cancer that is consuming mankind is not from God. This world as we see it is not natural, but it is all we know. When one takes the time to look around in nature, to observe the natural order of all things from our earth to the most distant galaxies of our universe, you must admit everything is in harmony or happens for a reason. But the harmony stops when it gets to man. That’s because man has chosen a way of self, instead of natural order. We don’t go with the flow, we fight the flow. This is what cancer does, it distorts the natural order of the body. God is not the cancer, but He is the cure. It’s not that God doesn’t care about people. It’s people that don’t care about people.

Other Distractions of Satan

This post, I want to get into the many other distractions of Satan. If you would like to get the lead-in to this post, click here.

Ever wonder, what in the world is going on in this world? I’d like to give you another acronym for KISS. Wikipedia tells us in part: KISS is an acronym for “Keep it simple, stupid” as a design principle noted by the U.S. Navy in 1960. The KISS principle states that most systems work best if they are kept simple rather than made complicated; therefore, simplicity should be a key goal in design and unnecessary complexity should be avoided.

I believe all we see that exists is a KISS “design principle” used by God in the creation of everything. To us it may be complicated, much like a small child watching his or her father, a mechanic, working on the engine of a car. But for the father, having mastered his craft, it is a simple task.

The most important thing that separates mankind from all other species on earth is our right to choose. It’s that simple. No other species on our planet has the right to make choices that effect all other living things on earth. By all rights, we having been created in the image of our creator, and are the most intelligent species on our planet. If you were Satan, how would you misdirect the human species away from God? The same way he did in the Garden of Eden. By making something simple, complicated. God simply stated to Adam and Eve. Don’t eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and bad and you will continue to live. Eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and bad and you will die. Simple.

The Unseen War Finale

Hello again and thank you for returning to K.I.S.S.I.T. Last post, I left off hinting of an unseen war that is taking place right now. Before I get to that though, I must tell you how it began.

unseen war public domainI stated in my last post that Lucifer is the son that had a desire to be like God. By entertaining that desire it began to grow inside him until it couldn’t be contained any longer. Because he chose self over others, he was now calling Jehovah a liar. How? By saying that God did not have his best interest at heart. If God didn’t have his best interest at heart, then Satan would have never had the right to choose self, he would have been forced to choose God. We can read at John 8:44 what Jesus told the Pharisees when he was telling them who their father was,  44“For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John+8%3A44&version=NLT

According to Jesus, the devil always hated the truth. What truth? The truth that it is better to rule through unselfish love rather than selfish love. Jesus also said that Satan was a murderer from the beginning. I was curious as to how the devil could be a murderer from the beginning when there were only spirit beings at the beginning. I know that God would not allow him to take the life of any spirit being.

In the Name of God

In the name of God …? Just what is the name of God?

Welcome back and thank you for your interest in my blog K.I.S.S.I.T., where I use the bible to answer questions I had on my quest to find the truth about God. I hope you find what I now call ‘God’s side of the story’, intriguing. Wouldn’t things be a lot clearer if you could see them from God’s prospective?

the name of god the father public domainResuming where we left off in the last discussion, I gave made the statement that I had found information about God’s personal name. I, unlike the 3rd century Jews that we read about last post, do not believe it to be disrespectful to God to speak His name. The Jews before the 3rd century didn’t have a problem speaking it. Remember last time we found out that, in almost all bibles after the 3rd century, the name of God had been replaced with the word ‘LORD’. When we read the bible now, every time we see the word LORD in all capital letters, the name of God used to be there. I believe what God wants is more important than what people want. Can the bible tell us what God wants us to know about the use of His name?

God was using Moses to free His people from slavery in Egypt, but the Pharaoh was reluctant to let them go. Then God told Moses to tell the Pharaoh this at Exodus 9:15-16: 15“For if by now I had put forth My hand and struck you and your people with pestilence, you would then have been cut off from the earth. 16But, indeed, for this reason I have allowed you to remain, in order to show you My power and in order to proclaim My name through all the earth.”

There are many more examples of where we are encouraged to call upon the name of God or the LORD. As you read the bible and see the word LORD try replacing it with the name of your choice, Jehovah or Yahweh. When you do, I think you will find God becomes more personal. Think about it like this. If there were twenty men standing in a group and you started calling out, ‘Hey man!’, how many do you think would respond? All of them or just one of them? Take that same group of men and call out, ‘Hey Charles’, more than likely only the one named Charles would respond. Wouldn’t it be the same way with gods?

Gods Only Begotten Son

Gods only Begotten Son is our topic today. To those of you that are returning, thank you and welcome back. I would like to thank you for sharing this site with people you know. We have been on a steady increase of visitors. Again, thank you so much.

To those of you here for the first time, welcome! I hope you find this blog interesting as well and, if you do, please tell others about it. However, if you have trouble understanding what is being discussed this week, you may want to begin with reading my first blog.

On my quest to find the truth about God, I chose to use the bible to find the answers to my questions. The more I read it, the more a picture began to emerge. It was like putting a puzzle together, I remember putting puzzles together with my mom as a child. The secret for me was the details that shaped the individual piece I was searching for and how it connected to the next piece. Slowly, piece by piece, a picture began to appear. In reading the bible for decades, the same thing happened. Now that I am adding the remnant pieces to the picture that I see from the scriptures, I want share it with you. I am not asking you to believe it, just look at it from a different perspective. It may not make sense at first, because I have to start at the end of my quest and work back to where we are today in time.

Enjoy, as we explore deeply into exactly what or who is …

Is God Real?

Welcome to K.I.S.S.I.T.! My name is Billy Lonas, and this is my first blog of many to come … “Is God Real?”… is the question I want to delve into today.

I want to thank you for visiting my blog and hope you will find it interesting. I promise to do what K.I.S.S.I.T. stands for—keeping it scripturally simple in truth. I will be using the bible to explain every topic we discuss here. I will use a bible I have had for forty-two years, The New World Translation. Poor thing is so marked up, I think more than half of it is underlined.

Many people will say to me: “Well, the bible was written by men and there are so many different versions that it can’t be the word of God.” I can’t deny any of that. But if there is a God, would He not have made sure the message always held true no matter what translation people use?

Let me explain. I see a sentence as a sandwich. The breads are the words, but the meaning contained within the words is the meat. So the different translations are just different types of bread. But if there is a God, the message or the meat between the bread will always be the same. As I quote from my bible, go check to see what your bible says, I think that you will agree, they mean the same thing. Here we go, sit back and enjoy.

Again, the question: “Is God Real?”, will be our first discussion.
